Card usage limits

Learn about prepaid card spending restrictions, product usage scope, and platform risk control rules.

Spending restrictions

Current card products are prepaid cards. The available card balance is the primary limit on spending. The total amount of a single transaction or multiple transactions cannot exceed the current available card balance. Transactions above the available balance will not be completed.

To control spending for a card or a business scenario, arrange the top-up amount according to the actual budget when creating or topping up the card. See Top up a card.

Important notes

Some card products are designed for specific business scenarios and may restrict or prohibit certain merchant categories, transaction types, or use cases. Before using a card, contact ONERWAY Customer Support to confirm the applicable scenarios, restrictions, and prohibited uses for the relevant card product to help avoid declined transactions.

Platform risk control rules

In addition to card balance, the platform evaluates risk based on dimensions such as transaction amount, merchant category, region, and frequency. These rules help protect merchant funds and account security. For details, see Data security and compliance requirements. These risk control rules are managed by the platform and currently cannot be configured by merchants.

Impact of card status

Statuses such as ACTIVE, FROZEN, SYSTEM_FROZEN, TERMINATED, and EXPIRED directly determine whether a card can currently be used for spending. See the status descriptions in Create cards.
